Valeria Corciolani

    She was born and currently lives in Chiavari, near Genoa, with her family and animals. In addition to writing, she works as an illustrator and teaches courses in schools inspiring students to cultivate their creativity and hone their writing skills. In 2010, she published “Lacrime di coccodrillo” with Mondadori, followed by “La mossa della Cernia” and “Il morso del ramarro” with Emma Books, a finalist for the Città di Como International Prize in 2015. With “Acqua Passata” (2017), she started this successful series, featuring the housekeeper and the inspector. Her stories are included in various anthologies and Ligurian Guides distributed with Repubblica. In 2019, she wrote and illustrated the fable “Mai perdere la testa” and illustrated Roberto Centazzo’s “Togliete il lupo dalle favole.” “Con l’arte e con l’inganno” (2021) and “Di rosso e di luce” (2022) mark the beginning of a new series for Nero Rizzoli, featuring art historian Edna Silvera (translated for the US by Kazabo Publishing). She received the Giallista of the Year award at the GiallOrmea Festival in 2022. The film adaptation of “Il morso del ramarro,” produced by Cima Prod Srl, was released in theatres in 2022 and won the Brussels Capital Film Festival in Brussels and the Slwf Short Long Festival in Corrientes, Argentina. Her new novel is scheduled for publication in July 2023.
